What is Shri Yantra?


“Shri Yantra” where Shri in the Hindi language denotes extreme respect and yantra (also referred to as Mandala) means instrument. The instrument for extreme Health, Wealth and Harmony. Shri Yantra, often called Shri Chakra is the mother of all Yantras. Meru is the three-dimensional form of Shri yantra and is the most powerful among all the yantras. Shri Yantra represents the whole of universal energy and the energy in every living and non-living thing. It comprises the divinity of maa Lalita Tripura Sundari, goddess Mahasarasvati, goddess Mahalaxmi, goddess Mahakali, Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu, Lord Rudra, eight forms of lord shiva and their consorts, ten suns, ten Mahavidhyas, ten avatars of Lord Vishnu, Mata Bhuvneshwari, sixteen nityas, sixty-four yoginis, and all the Devi and Devta, just as the linga is the energy form of Shiva, the Meru Shri Yantra is the energy form of Parvati.

Properties of Shri yantra?


  • This Shree Yantra is an Ashta Dhatu (8 metals) mix.

  • It’s made from a mixture of Copper, Zinc, Nickel, Aluminum, Lead, Iron, Manganese and Magnesium.

  • Shri Yantra, to the naked eye, appears as a 3D pyramid-like structure consisting of a unique pattern of triangles and circles.

  • In the middle is the PowerPoint called Bindu, which is actually the energy form at the time of the origin of the universe from which the cosmos expand.

  • Sri Yantra also represents the union of male and female energies represented by triangles. The upward-facing triangles represent male energy called Shiva, and the downward-facing triangles represent female energy called Shakti.

  • The triangles are enclosed by a lotus with eight petals and a lotus with sixteen petals, representing creation. The lotus represents the heart, the seat of the Self. When the heart opens, understanding comes. 

  • Yantra starts with dots and ends with square, the square at the outside of the yantra represents the earth element.

Where to place Shri yantra?


  • The placement or Sathapna of Shri yantra is done on Friday in the North-East direction with the tip of the Yantra towards East direction

  • It should be placed at the level of your eyes.

  • You can also put the Shri Yantra photo frame on either the North or East wall of your room.

  • Before placing it, make sure the place where you want to keep it should be washed ritually using saffron, milk, and water and then finally by the water itself.

  • Now on the specific location where you want to do the placement of Shri Yantra, sprinkle water while chanting the "Aim Hreem Namah" mantra.

  • Place yellow cloth or sheet of silver or gold on the spot and keep Shri Yantra there.

  • Put sandal paste/kumkum and a coral mala on Shri Yantra.

  • Shivling is also placed near Yantra.  

  • After completing this offer some Gur or jaggery, incense and yellow flowers to Shri Yantra.

  • Chant the Shri Yantra mantra for 108 times

  • Once you have offered your prayers and done the worship, place a red cloth over the yantra.

  • Every Friday offer yellow flowers, gut, and incense to the Shri Yantra and for the rest of the days, you can just get a glimpse of the yantra by removing the red cloth.

Meru Yantra is also buried under the foundation of a house or a construction building, also placed in the locker room and in the cash box to enhance the flow of wealth and prosperity.
